Beyond the Standard: Why ACHC Accreditation Matters
At Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care, quality isn't something we simply talk about. It's something we continually measure, evaluate, and strengthen. We're proud to announce that Pathways has once again been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), reaffirming our commitment to delivering exceptional hospice care to the patients and families of Northern Colorado.
Every hospice provider must meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). ACHC accreditation goes a step further. It is a voluntary process that evaluates organizations against rigorous standards designed to promote excellence in patient care, safety, quality improvement, leadership, and operational performance. Choosing to pursue accreditation reflects an organization's commitment to continuous improvement and accountability beyond the minimum regulatory requirements.
For patients and families, that means confidence. It means knowing your hospice provider has invited an independent organization to evaluate not only whether it meets required standards, but whether it demonstrates a culture of quality throughout the organization. It reflects a commitment to doing the right things for the right reasons—every patient, every family, every day.
While accreditation beyond CMS requirements is voluntary and not every hospice chooses to pursue it, Pathways believes it's an important investment in our community. We believe Northern Colorado deserves hospice care that is compassionate, ethical, evidence-based, and continually striving to improve.
This recognition joins other measures of quality that families can use when selecting a hospice provider, including our 4-Star CMS Quality Rating and nearly 50 years of caring for our neighbors. Together, they reflect our longstanding commitment to providing exceptional hospice and palliative care throughout Northern Colorado.
Quality is never a finish line. It's a promise—and one we're honored to continue fulfilling for the community we proudly serve.
Choosing a hospice is one of the most important healthcare decisions a family can make. If you'd like to learn more about Pathways Hospice & Palliative Care, our quality measures, or the services we provide, we're here to help—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
