Pathways Helps Close UCHealth Aspen Club’s Ducks in a Row Series with a Conversation About Grief

Planning for the future involves more than organizing documents and making practical decisions. It also means making space for important conversations about loss, grief and the support we may need along the way.

Pathways Hospice was pleased to be part of UCHealth Aspen Club’s Ducks in a Row series, which recently concluded with a presentation by Pathways’ own Brooke Rambold on Navigating Grief.

The series helps older adults and their families take a proactive approach to planning for the future, including the conversations and decisions that come with end-of-life planning.

Making Space for Conversations About Grief

Grief is a deeply personal experience, and no two journeys look exactly alike. Understanding what grief can look like, how it may change over time and where to find support can help individuals and families feel better prepared to navigate loss.

During her presentation, Brooke shared insights and perspectives on the grief journey with an engaged audience. Attendees asked thoughtful questions and shared their own stories and experiences, creating an opportunity for learning, reflection and connection.

These conversations matter. Hearing from others can remind us that we are not alone in our experiences, while learning about grief can help us better understand and support ourselves and the people we care about.

The Importance of Planning Ahead

UCHealth Aspen Club’s Ducks in a Row series encourages older adults and their families to approach the future with intention. Topics such as end-of-life planning can be difficult to discuss, but having these conversations ahead of time can help families better understand one another’s wishes and prepare for life’s transitions.

Including conversations about grief and emotional support in that process is equally important. While we cannot always anticipate how loss will affect us, we can take steps to build understanding, identify resources and recognize the value of connection during difficult times.

Supporting Our Community Through Education and Compassion

At Pathways Hospice, supporting individuals and families extends beyond physical care. Education, emotional support and opportunities to connect are important parts of helping people navigate life's most challenging experiences.

We’re grateful to UCHealth Aspen Club for including Brooke in this meaningful series and for creating space for community members to ask questions, share experiences and learn together.

Thank you to Brooke for sharing her knowledge and compassion, and to everyone who participated in this important conversation.

Through community education and compassionate support, we can help make conversations about grief a little easier to begin—and remind people that support is available when they need it.
